Where did baseball hand signals come from?

In exploring this seemingly simple question, Signs of the Time shares stories of inspiration that transcend the game of baseball. We meet two men at the heart of a controversy. One was a trailblazing umpire, whose tenacity and dedication earned him a place in the Hall of Fame ... the other, a ballplayer whose determination to overcome barriers of communication made him the most celebrated deaf player in the history of the major leagues. Signs of the Time will inspire baseball fans of all ages, while exploring our universal desire to understand each other, even in the face of adversity.

Narrated by Richard Dreyfuss, this award-winning documentary provides a remarkable trip through time, with theatrical re-enactments of 19th century baseball, inspirational stories about present-day heroes and a front row seat to the training of future major league umpires.

Featuring interviews with baseball greats Bob Feller, Brooks Robinson, Earl Weaver, Fred Lynn, Ken Singleton, Bill Werber, Danny Litwhiler, Jim Evans and Danny Litwhiler.

The DVD release is packed full of special features including interview footage not included in the film, filmmaker commentary, production slideshow, original film trailers and behind the scenes documentaries about the making of the film.
